Friends of the Earth supports Progress Party proposal
Last week, Progress Party Spokesperson on Environmental Issues, Ketil Solvik-Olsen, proposed to increase Norwegian involvement in solar energy development in Africa.
"I am surprised the government hasn't investigated this possibility more closely", says Solvik-Olsen. "Whenever I ask Minister Solheim about this, he refers to Norway buying quotas in developing countries. This is a very passive attitude", argues Solvik-Olsen.
Lars Haltbrekken of Norwegian Friends of the Earth agrees with Solvik Olsen: "This is a very good proposal. Norway should be more active in promoting the creation of renewable energy".
