No new blasphemy law after all.

Siv Jensen, President of the Progress Party, says she is relieved the government has come to their senses and decided not to propose a new law against blasphemy after all.

It was recently revealed that the government would propose a new law against blasphemy. With the current government enjoying a majority in Parliament, the law would pass without any problems.

But due to massive protests from academics, the opposition, media and ordinary citizens, the government has backed down.

Siv Jensen says she is shocked the government would even consider limiting our freedom of speech.
