The Government fails minority women

Minister for Children, Equality and Inclusion, Audun Lysbakken, has launched 68 measures to improve equality in society, yet none of them concerns minority women.

“I was surprised to learn that the most important issue of the women’s movement today was left out of Lysbakken’s proposal”, says Solveig Horne, Progress Party Spokeswoman on Women’s Affairs.

During Question Time in Parliament, Solveig Horne asked Minister Lysbakken about female genital mutilation and forced marriages. “These are the topics the Minister should be concerned about, not whether fathers should have their own paternity groups”, says Solveig Horne.

Solveig Horne is surprised the Minister hasn’t included any proposals to liberate women who experience oppression and promises that the Progress Party will continue to fight for equality for all women living in Norway.

“It is a sin of omission not to help women who live in fear in our country. It is the most important issue for the modern women’s movement”, says Horne.
