Vaksdal challenges the foreign minister

In a written question to the foreign minister, Jonas Gahr Støre, Progress Party representative Øyvind Vaksdal asks what is being done to counter the image internationally of Norway as an anti-Semitic country.

Vaksdal is worried that the current government’s recognition of Hamas and its pro-Palestinian stance in the conflict between Israel and Palestine have contributed to created an image of Norway as anti-Semitic.

“Influential academics like Manfred Gerstenfeld have argued that Norway is the most anti-Semitic country in Europe”, says Vaksdal. “I want to know what the government and the foreign minister is doing to counter this shameful image of our country.”
